The level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing and level 3 Diploma in Personal Training package combines both qualifications you need to work successfully as a qualified Personal Trainer. By completing both courses this will enable you to induct clients safely and effectively onto gym equipment and plan and devise programmes using advanced training methods.

Book both our Active IQ Level 2 Gym Instructor and Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training together and receive both courses for the fantastic price of £1399.00. This also includes the FTScotland Kettlebell Instructor Qualification.

The qualification will be delivered online with the use of online lectures and online learning resources. Assessments can be completed fully online due to current COVID restrictions or face-to-face once restrictions are lifted with only a single practical practice day (Level 2) and assessment day (Level 2 and 3) required at one of our facilities.

Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing

Manual

Candidates will receive a Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing manual when booking and be asked to read through specific sections and utilise e-learning below to help with revision.

E-learning

E-learning is included in the cost of the course. It is designed to offer a different learning style from the manual as some of our learners prefer visual and interactive learning as they struggle to study from the book alone. Within the e-learning resource it will cover:

  • Principles of anatomy, physiology, and fitness
  • Professionalism for fitness instructors and providing excellent customer care
  • Health and safety in a fitness environment
  • Conducting client consultations in a gym-based environment to support positive behaviour change.
  • Planning and instructing gym-based exercise programmes and group inductions

Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training

This only applies to the gym course, a day is put in place to allow candidates to practice all practical elements under supervision and guidance from our tutors. To get candidates ready for their practical assessment.

*Video submissions of the learners planned session must follow NHS Public Health & Government Guidelines and may use members of their household as clients to participate in the summative practical session.

*Learners can utilise the equipment & environment available to them whilst enduring the safety of both themselves and their clients.

*The video submission of the demonstration of training systems with a client as prescribe in the LAP can be submitted as one continuous recording or each training system recorded separately.

Entry Requirement

Some experience of gym-based exercises, including free weights, is highly recommended.

The course requires physical exertion, and individual participation is essential; therefore, a degree of physical fitness is necessary.

There is an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved and learners should have basic skills in communication pitched at level 2.

Certification

On completion candidates will be awarded with both Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing and Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training certificates.
