Manual
Candidates will receive a Level 3 Award in supporting Pre and Post-natal clients with exercise and nutrition manual when booking and be asked to read through specific sections.
There are worksheets that are required to be completed before the course starts. Candidates will receive guidance on this when booking.
In Person Delivery
Candidates will study some of the course through home study as well as one full day of face-to-face delivery at one of our locations. The basic guide below shows what the candidate will learn:
- The benefits of physical activity for pre- and post-natal clients
- The physiological and biomechanical changes that take part during pregnancy
- The key considerations for pre- and post-natal clients participating in physical activity
- The nutritional requirements for pre- and post-natal clients
- How to collect information and select appropriate activities with the pre- and post-natal client
- How to design an individualised, safe and effective exercise programme for pre- and post-natal clients
- How to record the individualised exercise programme for the pre- and post-natal client
- How to identify and manage risks to the pre- and post-natal client when participating in physical activity

Assessment

The above assessments will be given a deadline of two weeks after the course delivery. The assessments will be sent from the candidate to Fitness Training Scotland for marking.
Entry Requirements
Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing or Equivalent
Certification
On completion candidates will be awarded with an Active IQ Level 3 Award in supporting Pre and Post-natal clients with exercise and nutrition certificate.
